Our History
Westlight Lisboa Madalena is located between Rua da Madalena and Rua das Pedras Negras - the entrance is exclusively via Rua das Pedras Negras.
As the name suggests, this street has always been known for its cobblestones being this color, but not only:
Despite its long and interesting history, it is also in this location that the theory arises that there was a temple dedicated to the goddess Cybele and that the color of the stones comes from that period.
Between these streets (Rua da Madalena and Rua das Pedras) there are rare buildings built before the 1755 earthquake, although they currently also have characteristics of Pombaline buildings.
From our hotel you can visit several historical monuments on foot or take advantage of the wide range of transport options in the surrounding area - highly recommended for visiting the highest points of the city and enjoying the views from each point.
